Number of service points required is
based on # of children from each family:
· 1
child – 6 points per semester
· 2
children – 7 points per semester
· 3
children – 8 points per semester
· 4
children – 9 points per semester
Here are several key points under member
obligation within the by-law policies.
- Parent On Duty is required for all
families, except for the teachers and board members. Each family
is to complete at least ONE session per semester. Each Parent On Duty session
helps you earn THREE service points.
-
Four parents' meeting will be held every school year (2 meetings per
semester). One parent from
each family is required to attend the parents' meeting at least once per
semester. (This will help you to be informed of the latest
development and update as well as to earn you ONE service point for each
parents meeting.)
- Donation
is welcomed and can be in kind or monetary. Service points will be awarded based on the
value (i.e.$10 for ONE service point) and will be capped at 3 service
points.
- Parents On Duty Schedule is posted weekly at
the Message Board near the Teacher’s Lounge entry. We typically have 4
families to serve on POD per week.
-
The services points status is
updated and posted each week at the Message Board near the Teacher’s
Lounge entry. Feel free to check out your service points status.
-
Families that have not met their service point requirement will be assessed $10
per service point at the end of the semester during the registration.
Thank
you for your participation in ensuring a smooth and successful school
operation! Should you have any questions, please reach out to Director of Operation - Caroline Tan via

4th Period
CNSCS is accredited by the Illinois
State Board of Education as a foreign language school. And with this accreditation
come requirements, one of them being that we need to meet a certain number of instruction hours per school year.
This is where 4th period (also known as the Extracurricular Period) comes in.
Each student starting from 1st grade and above needs to pick an activities
class to fulfill these credit hours. Registration for a 4th period class
is mandatory for Grades 1 and up.
If you cannot decide which activity
to pick at the time of registration, we will assist you to find the
most appropriate 4th period class based on the child's age and interest.
Should you have any questions, please reach out to Director of Extra Curricular activities – Vijay Harikrishna via Extracurriculum@cnscs.org
